Weather in Dalhousie and best time to visit this place

Dalhousie is a hill station that maintains a cool and pleasant climate throughout the year, with misty mornings and evenings, bright sunny days, and clear skies. Due to its elevation, it is significantly cooler than the surrounding plains, and even in the spring, the climate can be quite chilly at night. However, during the monsoon months, it tends to be extremely wet and humid, with cloudy skies and continuous rainfall.

The winter season, which lasts from January to February, is known for its snowfall, which can occur at any time. However, the chances of snowfall are higher in January than in February, and the snow usually melts by the end of March. Spring arrives in late March, and the months of April, May, and June are considered the best time to visit Dalhousie due to the warm days and pleasant nights.

Monsoon season begins in July, and although it doesn’t rain heavily in Dalhousie, it’s best to avoid traveling during this time to prevent your plans from getting ruined by sudden rainfall. The scenery during this time is at its best, with lush green carpets of grass all around. September is when the monsoon departs, and the region experiences a pleasant climate, attracting a considerable number of tourists. Autumn arrives in October, and the valleys around turn golden-orange, giving them a magical look. November marks the start of winter season, and the vistas become dull and dry, making it a not so good time to visit. The temperature continues to drop, and after December 15th, snowfall can occur at any time.

The best time to visit Dalhousie is between April and June due to the pleasant weather conditions. However, if you don’t like crowded places, it’s best to avoid these months since a lot of families visit Dalhousie during their summer vacations. The months of July, August, October, and November are ideal for tourists who prefer less crowded places.
